5 Years

It’s been 5 years since Rachel and I said “I do.” Hard to believe that it’s been that long. Feels like yesterday that we met each other on the campus of Freed Hardeman University. I can’t put into words what a blessing it is to have Rachel in my life and especially starting a family with her.

Our life isn’t perfect. Neither of us are perfect. However, I have a better appreciation for God’s creation of marriage, because it is there where two imperfect people are bound in a perfect institution. We have our struggles like everyone else and we fall into the realm of always sharing our “picturesque” lifestyle. We argue, we get mad, we get upset, we get stressed. God created marriage so that two individuals would be able to help each other. And that is exactly what we do. Rachel encourages me to always be better. A better husband, a better father, a better man, a better Christian. I am thankful for that.

I am also thankful for our families and friends who, just like us, have their struggles in life but also put Christ first in their marriage, and what a great example they are to us and those around them. I’m thankful for Rachel’s patience, kindness, and love.

Thankful for God’s blessings of marriage and family. Happy Anniversary!

With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
