Fast Food Christianity

Did you know that there are over 14,000 McDonald’s in the United States?
Per minute, McDonald’s will sell 75 hamburgers globally.
Every day, they sell 9 million pounds of fries globally.

That is some wild numbers! When you hear the term “fast food” what do you think of? The first thing that comes to my mind is the McDonald’s franchise. I’m sure I’m not alone in that thinking. They pretty much invented the idea of fast food.
Here is a fascinating statistic: the average wait time in their drive-thru…. 208 seconds! That’s just over 3 minutes.

If someone had 3 minutes inside your church, what would be their conclusion?
When someone in your community thinks about Christianity, do you think they will have a picture of you and your church family in their mind?

Let’s say the average life of a person is 75 years. If that individual is a dedicated church goer, and tries to attend church at least 2 hours a week, they will spend 7,800 hours of those 75 years at church. However, that’s out of 657,000 hours.

Spreading the Love of Christ is not found in those 2 hours a week. It’s found in the other 166. I need to remind myself that everyday.

The reason why McDonald’s became so popular was due to the fact that they wanted to grow. They wanted to reach the people. And that’s exactly what they did.

That sounds like a a good plan for a church.

Blessings,

William S.
