A war broke out. The two armies were fighting against each other. A weird thing was occurring though, every time an older gentlemen raised his arms, the good guys were winning. However, every time the older gentlemen dropped his arms, the bad guys prevailed. It came to pass that two young men, Aaron and Hur, came to the elder’s side, placed a stone for him to sit on, and lifted Moses’ arms.
“Thus his hands were steady until the sun set. So Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.” Exodus 17:12-13
I have come to the realization that there is a point in one’s life where they need support. While sitting in a doctor’s office with an elderly friend of mine, I noticed that everyone coming in for their appointment had someone else with them, a younger individual giving them support: talking to the receptionist, helping them sit down as they hold their cane or walker, explaining to them what the doctor said, etc. They were there to hold them steady, to give them aid.
The point: we need to take care of each other. Be a steady rock for our brothers and sisters. Help them physically and spiritually. We are all in this battle together.
