As I have gotten older, I have learned a lot about Christmas. I’ve always enjoyed Christmas, I mean who wouldn’t? A time of giving gifts and getting PRESENTS!!!
But let me throw something your way. Christmas as we know, is not mentioned in the Bible, but is a man made holiday dating back to early 300 to mid 300 AD. A time which has been set aside for believers to celebrate the birth of the man we know as Jesus, the reason for the season.
Now, as I’ve gotten older I have appreciated this holiday even more. We must realize that the specific day of His birth is not mentioned and no one knows exactly. But what we do know is this: God sent his son to this earth in a human form, born of a human, and he was sent here for a mission:
For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost. -Jesus-
As we gather together with our families this Christmas holiday, let us be thankful for God sending him to be born, but more importantly let us be thankful that He came to save us. We need not one specific day to commemorate Jesus’ birth. We need everyday to show respect and be joyous for the reason he came down to this lowly place.
Remember Christ our Savior, was born upon this day, to save poor soul’s from Satan’s power, which long time had gone astray. -God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen-
